Phosphating

The zinc and manganese phosphate procedures are used in the cold forming of steels. This involves phosphate crystals of the greatest possible uniform structure artificially reproduced and then coated onto metallic surfaces. The process generally delivers a thick layer onto metal surfaces, depending on the steel type and the applied operation parameters.

The phosphated surface can be considered as a prepared surface for all kinds of painting and rubber-baking or it can then be conserved with different post-treatments (e.g. lubrication).
